Here on Shinobi Chronicles missions are a very important part of life. You use missions towards your military rank ups, but you also use them in order to earn additional ryo for any jutsu, items, so on and so forth you might need as your character develops and their story progresses.

Missions are broken down into two categories: Skill and Shinobi rank. What this means is some missions will only be able to be taken based on your skill rank, but allow for either lower ranked shinobi or civilians to actually take them, while Shinobi rank missions are based entirely on your military rank and can only be taken by military personnel.

When it comes to Skill rank missions, your team can comprise a mixture of civilians and shinobi, however Military missions can only involve military personnel.

The payout for these types of missions varies as well, depending on if it’s a skill based mission or a shinobi rank mission. The reason for this is skill-based missions can be given by NPC’s, and don’t necessarily need to go through the village itself to be done. You can easily stumble across a farmer in need of some assistance who is willing to part with some coin. However, that farmer wouldn’t be able to pay you as much as a government job could.

The biggest difference between skill rank and shinobi rank missions is what kind of missions they actually are. Both can be incredibly dangerous at higher ranks, but shinobi based missions tend to deal more with political issues, assassinations, missing nobility, and so on and so forth. Shinobi missions tend to be able to cover all sorts of missions of course, whereas skill ranks are limited in what they can do.

Payments and Requirements

As stated above skill rank missions pay less than shinobi based missions. However, there is a unique system here on Shinobi Chronicles in which you can earn more than what the mission says. In fact, you can double the base pay of the mission!

Each mission requires an overall amount of post count to complete. This is not per person, but rather per thread. An example of this would be that a D-rank mission requires 5 posts to complete, you could either solo it and do all 5 posts yourself, or go with another person at which point one of you would have to post 3 times and your partner 2 to meet the requirements!

In regards to doubling your missions base pay, for every 5 posts above the mission requirement you go you earn 150 ryo. So take a skill-based D-rank mission that requires 5 posts to complete. If you (or you and your partner(s) ) were to hit 10 posts in that mission total you would not only earn the 150 base pay, but an additional 150 on top of that for the 5 extra posts! Please note however that you can only go as high as doubling the base pay and no further, regardless of how many posts extra you do!

Skill Based Mission(s) Requirements and Pay

D-Rank: 5 Posts | 150 Ryo
C-Rank: 10 Posts | 200 Ryo
B-Rank: 15 Posts | 300 Ryo
A-Rank: 20 Posts | 600 Ryo
S-Rank: 25 Posts | 1,000 Ryo

Shinobi Based Missions(s) Requirements and Pay

Genin: 5 Posts | 200 Ryo
Chuunin: 10 Posts | 350 Ryo
Special Jounin: 15 Posts | 500 Ryo
Jounin: 20 Posts | 1,000 Ryo
Jounin Commander: 25 Posts | 2,500 Ryo

General Mission Requirements

When it comes to taking missions there are some requirements that need to be met. These vary depending on if the mission is skill rank based or shinobi rank based.

A general rule of thumb when it comes to missions is the requirement needs to be met by the highest ranking person in your mission group. This means that, while it might not be wise to do, technically a D-rank could tag along on an S-rank mission provided the person taking them was of at least A-rank. However, that does not necessarily mean you will survive, so please keep that in mind.

When taking a skill-based mission the ‘highest ranked’ person in your party has to be at least of a rank lower than the mission to take it, or higher. Meaning, to take an S-rank mission someone in your mission party must be of at least A-rank for the mission to even begin to seem valid.

When it comes to Shinobi rank based missions someone in your party must be of equal or higher rank than the Shinobi mission states. Meaning, if the mission is listed as Chuunin requirement, then someone in your party MUST be at least a Chuunin in order for your party to take the mission.

Mission Creation

You are, of course, welcome to make missions as you wish and to help further expand upon the missions located within your village. For every FIVE missions you create and get approved by staff for a specific village you will earn 5 EP (see EP guide for more information).

Each mission you create must have its own template. You can put multiple missions into a single thread if they belong to the same village, and in fact that is preferred for modding purposes. When you’ve written up the missions you want to get approved, post them under the “Missions” category and put in a modding request on the Discord channel!
