Element Guide and Template Empty

Everyone starts with 2 base elements. A base element is any of the basic 5 (Wind, Water, Fire, Earth, Lighting), Yin, or Yang release. The only exception to this rule is if your clan’s Kekkei Genkai states differently.

The skill you have in each your elements is based on your skill rank. As your skill rank improves, so will your ability use these elements. As your skill rank increases, you also get access to additional elements.

The maximum amount of elements you can have is 5. You get your third at B Rank and Fourth at S Rank. The Fifth slot can only be unlocked via an Event Prize. The requirement to fill these slots are a thread of at least 15 posts. You are able to learn these from another player in character, which reduces the word count necessary to learn it by 5 posts. As an alternative, you may purchase the element instead for 3000 ryo.

Base Elements

Lightning Release (雷遁, Raiton; English TV "Lightning Style") is one of the five basic elemental nature transformation techniques that allows the user to generate lightning by increasing the high frequency vibrations of their chakra, allowing for piercing damage and fast movement. The electricity paralyses the target so that they are unable to move and leave them vulnerable to a finishing strike. While uncommon, lightning can be infused into bladed weapons in a way similar to Wind Release through chakra flow for increased piercing power through vibrations, with the added effect of inducing numbness. When the technique is released from their bodies, and thus not requiring physical contact, it does not move as fast as true lightning. Instead, due to the control the user has to exert over it, it moves far slower, which can give opponents time to still react.

Earth Release (土遁, Doton; English TV "Earth Style") is one of the basic elemental nature transformation techniques and allow the user to manipulate the surrounding earth for offensive and defensive purposes or create it; be it dirt, mud, or rock. Earth Release techniques have the ability to change the strength and composition of the earth from being as hard as metal to as soft as clay, as well as manipulating their density, making them heavier or lighter. This includes allowing the user to travel through ground and rock in various ways which can be essential for both transportation and for setting up attacks or creating defenses or for offence. Indeed, this makes earth techniques one of the most versatile of the elemental techniques. Pre-existing earth is not necessary though, for the user can create it with their own chakra

Water Release (水遁, Suiton; English TV "Water Style") is one of the basic elemental nature transformation techniques that allow the user to manipulate pre-existing water, or create their own, by turning their chakra into water. It takes much more ability to create the water outside the body than to manipulate what is already available or expel it from their mouths. One of the most versatile of the five basic chakra natures, Water Release techniques can not only change shape but state as well. Moreover, the water becomes more solid in the process as well.

Wind Release (風遁, Fūton; English TV "Wind Style") is one of the five basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. A rarity among the five chakra natures,[1] wind techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and can be enhanced through this method as well. Wind-nature chakra can also be channeled into blades to increase their cutting power and overall range.

Fire Release (火遁, Katon; English TV "Fire Style") is one of the basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by molding super heated chakra inside the stomach before releasing it via the lungs and mouth. There are also variants to this in the form of some mediums such as the use of gun powder, explosive tags and chakra flow into a weapon. Commonly affiliated with the Tiger hand seal, Fire Release consists of mid to long-ranged offensive techniques that cause combustive and explosive damage.

Yin Release (陰遁, Inton, Viz: Dark Style" or "Shadow Style) techniques, based on the spiritual energy that governs imagination, can be used to create form out of nothingness.

Yang Release (陽遁, Yōton, Viz: Light Style) techniques, based on the physical energy that governs vitality, can be used to breathe life into form.

Advanced Releases

Advanced Releases are approved on a case by case bases. Certain Advanced Releases (Ice, Explosion, etc) have special rules that they follow. You ARE able to have them without being apart of their respective clans, however you will not be able to learn any of the clan locked jutsu tied to the releases.

You are also able to make your own custom advanced element. The template for it is below.

Name: (What is the name of your element)
Type: (Is it a Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Tota?)
Requirements: (What elements are combined to make the element?)
Minimum Skill Rank: (What is the lowest skill rank a character can learn this element?)
Description: (How does this element work? What does it look like?)
Special Training Requirements: Is there anything the character has to do in order to learn this element)

Code:
[b]Name:[/b] (What is the name of your element)
[b]Type:[/b] (Is it a Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Tota?)
[b]Requirements:[/b] (What elements are combined to make the element?)

Specialized Release

You may take one element and double-specialize in it. That one element would be both your primary and secondary. By doing this, you gain a permanent +1 rank in power to that element; meaning that any jutsu of that element is treated as doing one rank higher in damage, and you are able to learn jutsu of that element to one rank higher then you normally would for your rank; capping out at S-rank. In some instances, you will be required to double specialize in one element in order to unlock an advanced/specialized release; in which case you will not gain the +1 rank/power, as the double specialization is required in order to unlock the new release and therefore functions differently.
